Tattered Poinsettia

I made this tag as a home decoration piece for Christmas.

I started out with an Etcetera tag from Tim Holtz. I glued some wintery paper on it using collage medium. I put some crackle paste on the edges.

For the flowers I blended some purple and blue Distress ink on watercolor paper. Flicked some water on it to distress it. Then die cut the flowers using the Sizzix bigz die Tattered Poinsettia.

The leaves were made in the same way. Green and brown Distress ink on watercolor paper. After die cutting the leaves I took some of the leaves and embossed them clear embossing powder. It makes them look great.

I finished the tag with some Crackle Ribbon, colored with the same Distress colors as the flowers.

Little Woodland Houses

First I cut out the little houses from Paper Village. Then I embossed some white cardstock with the 3D embossing folder Lumber. To color it I used Distress Ink in the colors Frayed Burlap, Vintage Photo, Gathered Twigs, Walnut Stain.

I then cut some branches using the Sizzix die Branches. I glued the branches the the front and sides of the houses.

For the roof I took some white cardstock and colored it wit Distress Ink. I used Peeled Paint, Forest Moss and Mowed Lawn. I cut out leaves with the Sizzix die Garden Greens and glued them to the roof.

I went over the glued down branches with some Walnut stain to give it some contrast. I did the same for the leaves with Forest Moss.

I made a background using Distress Inks. Antique linen for the moon, Faded Jeans, Stormy sky, Chipped Sapphire and Black soot for the sky and Forest Moss, Peeled Paint, Mowed Lawn and Black Soot for the ground.

I took a Idea-ology Vignette Divided Drawer. Drilled a little hole in the back and put some lights through. I covered up the lights with my background to make it look like there were stars in the sky. I also put some lights in the houses.

I then made some more leaves with the left over cardstock that I colored green, and made some other leaves in fall colors using Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade, Crackling Campfire, Vintage Photo, Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint. For these leaves I used the Sizzix die Funky Foilage.

Then I put the whole thing together. I used different types of moss to cover the ground and make it look more woodsy.

For the outside of the Vignette I used pieces of the cardstock embossed with the 3D embossing folder.

Snarky Cats Birthday Cards

Just two simple, but fun, birthday cards with Snarky Cats.

For the first card I used Distress Ink Shabby Shutters for the background. I blended the ink in the middle of the paper, sprayed some water and made some splashes. It is a simple technique but the results are beautiful and fun.

I stamped the cat and the balloon with embossing ink and used black embossing power, I then colored the cat with Distress Ink Vintage Photo and de balloon with Distress Ink Shabby Shutters,  and fuzzy cut the two images. I tied some string between the balloon and the cat and stuck them to the background with foam tape. The sentiment is also done with embossing ink and black embossing powder.

For the second card I used Distress Ink Vintage Photo and Chipped Sapphire and Disstress Oxide Vintage Photo and Chipped Sapphire. First I blended the Distress Ink on the paper and sprayed some water. After drying it, I 'smashed' some Oxide on my craft sheet and sprayed this with water. I then dipped the paper in the ink.

The cat was created the same way as the first card but I only fussy cat the balloon. I cut out the image of the cat in a square and rounded the corners. I put some ink around the edges and sprayed this with water. The rest I left white to create some contrast. The sentiment was done the same way.

Just love those Snarky Cats.

The Witch Mansion

I made the base with the scoreboard XL die ‘journal’ from Eileen Hull. I uses an extra piece of chipboard to glue the two pieces together. I covered the chipboard with some paper from my stash and grunged it up a bit.

Then I took the Etcetera Trim from Tim Holtz and glued them to the bottom of the ‘journal’ so it could stand up.

The base was now finished.

For the outside I used the Haunted die from Tim Holtz. I took some watercolor paper and colored it with  Scattered Straw for the moon and the light glow inside the house. The mansion was made with Black out cardstock. I sanded the cardstock before I cut out the little pieces. For the gate I used watercolor paper and colored it with Black Soot.

I also added some vines. These were colored with Peeled Paint, Forest Moss, Gathered Twigs and Walnut Stain.

On the back I put some ghosts and spiderwebs. I used two different brands of mixed media paper. I used the same technique to color the paper (blending with a blending tool and spraying with water), the same color (Pumice Stone), but got different results.

I used the one on the left for the spiderwebs, and added some Hickory Smoke. The one on the right, I used for the ghosts.

And then the inside.

For the window, the shelves and fireplace I used Woodgrain paper. I colored the paper with Gathered Twigs, Frayed Burlap, Walnut Stain (crayon) and black soot (crayon)
before die cutting.

I die cut the fireplace several times out of black cardstock. I glued them all together to give it more depth. The stones are from watercolor paper, colored with Black Soot. For the fire I used Scattered Straw, Fossilized Amber and Wild Honey, and for the background in the fireplace Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge and Black Soot.

The moon in the window is made with Scattered Straw and Fossilized Amber, the sky with Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot, the bats, raven, spiders, keys and hat are colored with Black Soot.

For the cauldron I used mixed media paper, colored with Black Soot. I used some grit paste through a stencil to make the stains. I colored the grit paste with Rusty Hinge Oxide. The foam on the cauldron is from the same paper colored with Hickory Smoke and Twisted Citron.

All the other things are made with mixed media paper. And colored with Distress ink.
