A day at the beach

A summer beach scene made with the Tim Holtz colorize die ‘under the sea #2’.
Unfortunately I didn’t write down all the colors of distress ink I used. I will tell you the ones thar I remember.

I used the smaller vignette tray as base for the scene.
For the background I used watercolor paper and distress inks. I used Antique Linen and different shades of blues. The sun was made with the Sizzix die Circle Play.
I glued some Etcetera trims to the front of the vignette tray to make the beach.
I put grit paste on it to make it look like sand and painted the grit paste with distress paint Antique Linen.

The beach shack was made with the Sizzix bigz dies Village Dwelling and Village Surf Shack. I painted the walls with distress paint Speckled Egg and Frayed Burlap. For the roof I used a piece of burlap.

The Sizzix die Village Surf Shack not only has the roof and windows for the shack, but also a palmtree, surfboard and lifebuoy. For the palmtree there’s also a piece that you can use to make the tree stand up. I used the same technique for the top of the palmtree to make it look more dimensional. I colored the palmtree with Ground Espresso and Rustic Wilderness.

For the animals I colored pieces of mixed media heavystock with different colors of distress ink.

Walrus: Ground Espresso, Walnut Stain, Gatheres Twigs
Turtles: Peeled Paint (ink and oxide), Forest Moss
Crabs: Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany
